Zombies Attack Lincoln University

Posted by Andrea Lake on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, In : Zombie
I never thought I would see signs of a zombie apocalypse at Lincoln  University, but this film has been a viral phenomenon and created a wealth of publicity for Lincoln Uni.

The young man who made this film, while failing to portray a believable character, still managed to create an engaging and admirable piece of film, drawing on popular media and culture in order to create the perfect environments for sharing his skills.

If I might give my dear friend "K" a piece of advice... Vampires!  Vam...

Zombie Apocalypse

Posted by Andrea Lake on Saturday, December 15, 2012, In : Zombie
I know I'm not the only one who has a poster on the fridge listing survival techniques in the event of a zombie apocalypse, and I know there is no likelihood of this happening; but sometimes I feel I am the only one who notices the zombies in every day life.  I was one myself last week!

I had a rotten cold/flu bug and I felt seriously under the weather, yet I tried to continue my every day routine.  I'm not sure that much actually sunk in last week at all!  I thought about myself shuffling aro...

Dead Men Don't Walk

Posted by Andrea Lake on Sunday, November 11, 2012, In : Zombie
I love The Walking Dead and I enjoyed watching season 4, although it seemed to me to be a little more gory than previous series', however, I might be recanting events through rose coloured glasses...  Anyway, I digress.

One of the things that has been prevalent in my household is the back of a computer chair in front of the television screen.  Yes, my darling OH has been obscuring my view of the telly while playing on the xbox!  Yes, I know, other gaming consoles exist, but in our house the xb...

Game of Thrones - Spoilers!!!

Posted by Andrea Lake on Monday, June 4, 2012, In : Zombie
This season has "throne" a lot at us.  Rob Stark pronounced King of the North, Joffrey pronounced a little bastard by pretty much all who know him.

Sansa Stark must have been filled with relief when Joffrey decided to wed another, but her first real discovery is that she is now alone in Kings Landing with no real friends, and no protection!  Sansa was offered an opportunity to escape Kings Landing by Sandor Clegane and I would like to think his offer was made in good faith.  He has come to the...

Truth Really Is Stranger Than Fiction…

Posted by Andrea Lake on Tuesday, May 29, 2012, In : Zombie
The subject of zombies has inundated movie theatres since the 1970s and remains a popular part of cult literature, wowing both television and movie audiences across the globe.

However, the first film of the genre is White Zombie, released in 1932, in which a young man turns to the dark arts in order to wrest the woman he loves from her fiancé, but turns her into a zombie slave instead with unexpected results.  More recent times have seen blood and gore fests, like the 1968 classic, Night ...

The Walking Dead Continues October 2012 - Spoilers

Posted by Andrea Lake on Sunday, April 1, 2012, In : Zombie
So, having watched the Season Two finale of The Walking Dead last week I am champing at the bit waiting for Season Three.

Season Two ended with Andrea being rescued from a zombie attack by someone wearing a cloak.  This character's name is Michonne and we will meet her fully, no doubt, in the next series.  The role has already been cast and looks set to be played by Danai Gurira - from her shrouded arrival at the end of Season Two, it is obvious she is one ball-busting bitch, so expect to see ...

The Walking Dead - Penultimate Episode

Posted by Andrea Lake on Saturday, March 24, 2012, In : Zombie
If my calculations are correct, then the next episode of The Walking Dead will be the last one on television for a while (well we might be treated to it on terrestrial telly, but there will be no new episodes until next year!  *sob*

However, for those of you on facebook, I managed to access this little gem - The Walking Dead Game.  Last time I checked, it hadn't gone live, but hopefully it won't be much longer.  Okay, it won't be anything like the series - these things seldom are; but it might...

The Walking Dead Season Two: Triggerfinger

Posted by Andrea Lake on Monday, February 27, 2012, In : Zombie
This certainly proved to be an exciting instalment in the latest series!  Buy Walking Dead: Season One now by heading to this page: Zombies.

Rick, Hershel and Glenn were stuck in the bar at the end of the last episode, and had just killed two men to preserve their existence at Hershel's farm.  One of the things I love about this series is it makes you think about life in a post-apocalyptic world and as you see the characters develop week after week, you do care for them and get involved.  I mu...

Resident Evil - A New World

Posted by Andrea Lake on Friday, January 20, 2012, In : Zombie
I'm the first to admit that I'm not a gamer.  I have pretty poor hand-eye coordination and struggle playing the simplest games, even in real life.  I suck at ten-pin bowling and this is probably the simplest game going!

I can get engaged very simply by watching my other half quite happily battering a zombie to death with a crow bar or hockey stick.  Games like BioShock and Resident Evil are engaging and very easily drag you in.  For someone like myself, who proudly announcers her non-gaming a...

Zombify Me

Posted by Andrea Lake on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, In : Zombie
I have watched every moment of The Walking Dead Season One and am really looking forward to catching the rest of Season Two on Sky TV.

One cannot fail to be impressed by the leadership of former police chief Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes), and Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Shane Walsh, the police officer who has reached the limit of his endurance, is sympathetic considering the circumstances in which they find themselves.  The special effects in this particular TV show are nothing short of stunn...
